It's pretty wild how Adobe, a company that has been consistently hostile towards it's user base, finding new ways to gouge them for more money each year, is still considered an industry standard when what their programs are capable of is hardly any more impressive than their competitors which have business models that aren't based around being actual scum sucking demons to their clients.
I get that artists tend to stick to programs they know in and out but honestly, anything you'd want to do using an Adobe product you could just as easily do with any other program on the market, and then you don't run the risk of your tools being taken back from you and held ransom for ten times what you originally payed
I'm really looking forward to the day when Adobe realizes they're destroying themselves and try to clamber back into relevancy by dropping their prices back down and apologizing for you know, making it illegal to use products people fucking payed hundreds and hundreds of dollars for, but I think everyone has learned enough about how they want to operate to know that it'd just be a trick and they'd just find a new way to exploit us as soon as they possibly could.
Thanks for Postscript!
Thanks for EPS.
@Paul Their business model is the same as drug dealers. First time's free, then you pay through the nose once you're addicted
